Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia with a diverse landscape and rich geography. It borders Kazakhstan in the north, Turkmenistan in the south, Tajikistan in the east and Afghanistan in the south. The most famous feature of Uzbekistan's geography is the Karakum Desert in the west and the Kyzylkum Desert in the east.
The eastern part of the country is mountainous, including parts of the Tien Shan and Pamirs. The highest point is Hazret Sultan Peak (formerly Garmo Peak) with an altitude of over 4,600 meters. There are several large rivers across the country, including the Amu Darya and Syr Darya, as well as many lakes, including Aydarkul and Sarykamysh.
Uzbekistan is rich in flora and fauna, including rare species such as the Turanian tiger and the Russian tortoise. The geography of Uzbekistan makes it a wonderful place for nature, adventure and discovery.
